ABOUT THE SONG: In January 1995, Pope John Paul II came to Manila for World Youth Day 1995.  The theme for that year was "As the Father sent me, so am I sending you." TELL THE WORLD OF HIS LOVE was written with this theme in mind and was selected out of 85 songs to be the Official Theme Song for that event, which brought together millions of people in what was one of the world's biggest gatherings. The song continues to be sung in churches and during World Youth Day held in various countries.
